Disaster Action Team (DAT) Volunteers
The Central North Carolina Chapter's Disaster Action Team (DAT) volunteers are on call 24 hours a day and respond promptly to all local disasters.
The local Emergency Management, Fire Department or 911 Dispatch Centers contact the DAT when Red Cross assistance is needed. The DAT volunteers on call go immediately to the scene.
Red Cross provides food to victims and rescue workers, if needed, and help those affected obtain what they need most - temporary shelter, food, clothing, medications and disaster mental health assessments. Assistance is provided based on the individual needs of our clients.
On-Call Rotation Schedule
The DAT members are assigned to an on-call team, either day-time or night-time and weekend. The on-call rotation is Tuesday to Tuesday from 5:00pm - 8:00 Monday - Friday, all day weekends and holidays.
