Our History
Since its founding in 1881 by visionary leader Clara Barton, the American Red Cross has been the nation's premier emergency response organization. As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguishes itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters.

Our Chapter
Since 1917 our chapter has been providing life saving services and humaitarian aid to the people of this area. Before we were known as Central North Carolina Chapter, the American Red Cross was here, established by local supporters, to bring disaster relief and other services to our community.

Our Programs
When a disaster happens, when someone needs lifesaving blood, when someone is choking or needs CPR, the American Red Cross is there. Every year, just in our area, the Red Cross touches one in every ten people through one of our life saving programs.
